A Younger Thinner Aretha Performs
by vidkkingg on Feb.06, 2010, under Z - Zone Of Its Own
Aretha Franklin has been known as The Queen Of Soul, and many have called her Lady Soul, and also Sista Re. She is best known for her soul and R&B records but she is also at home singing rock, pop, gospel, jazz and blues. Many agree she is one of the premier vocalists of all times. In this video we see a much younger and much thinner aretha performing one of her famous hits entitled …I say a little prayer for you. the ease with which she inserts her adlib vocal phrasing here is typical of aretha and absolutely amazing to watch. there is really nobody who sings like aretha. we hope you enjoy this performance blast from the past
Two Versions Of Mike Mcdonald Tune
by vidkkingg on Jan.17, 2010, under Z - Zone Of Its Own
Well here is todays post for die hard mike mcdonald fans …this is not something we have done before. we are presenting the song sweet freedom first from the 1986 movie running scared with billy crystal and greg hines. so the original music video from 1986 shows a much younger looking michael mcdonald doing the original version for radio and mtv with hines and crystal hamming it up in the video and some clips from the movie. now the video right under it we fast forward seventeen years and see a much older mike mcdoonal in a live performance and watch free flowing changes on the same tune. this was a time when mcdonald had his back up singers, sax player and a big black woman drummer who is an absolutely outstanding in the pocket professional. we have never seen a better woman drummer of any color play any better than this girl. she is so right on she is a joy to watch and bigger joy to listen to. so we thought that these two versions of sweet freedom present such an interesting contrast that we just had to put them together. we are also tremendous fans of mike mcdonald and have followed him throughout his career. he is an outstanding musician, singer and songwriter…he has a voice like nobody else on the planet. so for all you michael mcdonald fans ….enjoy this time slide contrast.

If you want a dose of weirdness this video offers some unusual images of people. these are people who enjoy standing out from the normal crowd. these people get off watching other people watch them and watching other peoples jaws drop open in amazement and awe. Lets face they are some of the freakiest freaks around…they know it, you know it and anybody who stares at them knows it. sometimes you just need to check out how freaky some people can be to realize how normal you actually are.

Back in 1984 the group yes made this video to accompany there hot chart topper entitled Owner of the lonely heart. it is a bit avante garde so it is like a visual rubics cube to try and interpret any meaning but it is fun to try. the group yes is a progressive band that started in 1968. Their music has sharp contrasts, extra long song lengths, and instrumental prowess. the band blends cassical feel with their musical style. the band has toured for over fourty years and still has a large following.
Ghostly Tribute To Stevie Ray Vaughan
by vidkkingg on Aug.26, 2009, under Z - Zone Of Its Own
you know, it amazes us that some people have never heard of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Many people in the know feel that stevie was among the top three guitarists in the world. no we are not talking about classical guitar..we are talking blues and rock. some people feel stevie was even better than hendrix and others say they were equal. Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble played two shows in August 1990 in East Troy, WI, while on tour with Eric Clapton.
to travel to the next gig, the tour manager reserved helicopters to avoid highway traffic. In dense fog, Just past the lift-off zone was a 300-foot hill. Vaughan’s helicopter pilot was not familiar with the pattern for leaving the area, and did not reach proper altitude after take-off. Vaughan’s helicopter crashed into the hill. All occupants including Vaughan, the pilot and three members of Eric Clapton’s travel group were killed on impact. we thought this video might well serve as a ghostly tribute to one of the worlds greatest blues/rock guitarists
Reaching Way Back Doo Wop Memories
by vidkkingg on Jul.26, 2009, under Z - Zone Of Its Own
After the big band era came the doo wop boys. we know that this music is only memories for old people but some of these tunes have been remade over the years and most only saw one release. this was an era of vocal groups not really instrumentation like in rock and roll. these guys could stand on a street corner and just vocalize which is a pretty unique talent. People in the fifties and early sixties loved these sounds and tunes. after this era came the birth of rock and roll and doo wop went its way into the memory bin like so many other types of music.
Watch Listen Napoleon Hill Speaks
by vidkkingg on Apr.27, 2009, under Z - Zone Of Its Own
Here is a rare video of the great napoleon hill who wrote the famous book “think and grow rich” which has helped millions of people attain great wealth. Hill talks about what Andrew Carnegie taught him many years ago. Both men are utterly fascinating to hear tell about their take on life, the art of creation and what we today refer to as the Law of Attraction. these guys are most assuredly worth listening to and hill’s book is a classic that preceded all the modern works on creating your own reality and manifesting your own circumstances in life through law of attraction/creation. this all must be done, of course, through adjusting your vibration because that is the bottom line on conscious creation of one’s own desires and circumstances. If you really want to tighten up the process….one of the best modern books we have found to do this is entitled “Manifesting the Ultimate”. If you do a google search on that book …you will find it.
